| Prior to our last meeting we informed the speaker, JBS representative Robert Owens, that our primary focus was the 1619 Project, which is an optional educational tool that teachers can use in Ohio if the school board were to agree. He told us he planned to research the topic and include that in his talk. Owens was a dynamic speaker who gave us lots of important information about how to proceed in opposition to the Executive Orders coming from the Biden Administration, but did not include the Project. To those of you who came primarily for that information, we apologize, and plan to hold a future meeting on that issue. ******************************************************** |
| In connection to schools, this needs immediate action! OHIO HOUSE BILL – HB-1 – IMPORTANT, IMPORTANT, IMPORTANT! This bill has been put on a fast track in the Ohio House to allocate 2 to 4 BILLION of Ohio Taxpayer dollars to our public schools system. This huge amount of money will not be going to any institutes of education EXCEPT PUBLIC SCHOOLS which means that parents who have opted for their children to attend Charter, Parochial, Christian or Home schools (because they do not want their sons and daughters – young as 3rd grade – to be indoctrinated with ideologies such as the 1619 Project or the LBGQT+ propaganda), will still have to pay for this boondoggle for the public school system. Unfortunately, there is much support in the Ohio House of Representatives for this bill. Even more unfortunately many of the Republican majority are supporting it. We need to flood their phones, their emails – multiple times to let them know how egregious this is to their constituents in Ohio. Call, email not once, but daily if possible. The bill is still in committee but they could be voting out anytime. I am asking that you not discriminate with our tax dollars and expect that if the Ohio House does pass such a bill, that the language of the bill INCLUDES EDUCATIONAL CHOICE for taxpayers whose children attend non-public schools. Examples are: Parochial, Christian, and Home schools. Our Ohio Constitution requires our state to educate ALL our children, the wording does not limit that education to only the public school system. Please do not discriminate against some taxpayers but, instead, stand for all the constituents in your district.
