Some parts of the region are in ruins. We are providing relief in the mountains of Watauga County, North Carolina—home to Samaritan’s Purse international headquarters in the town of Boone. The town and surrounding communities have been particularly hard-hit with toppled trees, flooding, road damage, and a lack of power and water. This response extends to include neighboring counties in North Carolina (Ashe, Avery) and eastern Tennessee (Johnson), and our church base is Alliance Bible Fellowship in Boone. She said if they don’t get assistance asap the area will have a deadly outcome. I contacted Samaritans Purse this morning. Ohio is the first state to start putting together Disaster Teams. They need electricians, plumbers, medical personnel plus supplies. No roads in so everything has to be brought in by air. I spoke to a couple of people that are contacting Samaritan Purse and above list to offer services. They are helicopter pilots and med vac trained. I also spoke with an electrical Company to recruite electricians and plumbers for the disaster teams. Going to reach out to medical supply companies (Cardinal Health, Kimberly Clark) to see if their warehouses are not underwater to offer medical supplies and ship to Conrad NC which is a staging area.” There are many curious aspects to this tragedy that are unfolding such as obvious indications that our government’s 70+ year program on manipulating the weather had a lot to do with this horrific storm.
